World-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson addressed a forum about human trafficking and slavery in US, Carson who is a Professor of Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Oncology, and Paediatrics, and the Director of Paediatric Neurosurgery at John Hopkins Medical Institution, in his speech said that his ancestors are from a small migratory tribe in Kenya and Tanzania known as Turkana.
Carson who is the author of three best selling books – Gifted Hands, Think Big, and The Big Picture, talked about the pain and heartache associated with slavery. He went ahead and condemned slavery saying it robbed a lot of Afro-American people their parents because they were separated and taken to different parts of the world where they were subjected to hard labour not knowing if they will ever re-unite with their families.
After the U.S President, Obama who allegedly is from Kenya, Dr.Ben Carson is the second prominent American to trace his roots back to Kenya.
Obama is making his first trip to his father’s native, Kenya as president, this July for bilateral meetings and the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
